Thread: Restarting machine currently cracking PW
Post: RE: Restarting machine currently cracking PW
If you didn't specify a session name when you first started the task then the default one would be used. So restart with just the --restore option and it should pick it back up. |

Post: RE: Single CPU vs Dual CPU & Hashcat
I've no idea what the X5690 benches at (anyone?) but I'm going to guestimate that the GTX 970 (and its 50% over reference 225W draw) is about an order of magnitude faster.
So why bother with those ... |

Thread: 5870 vs 6870
Post: RE: 5870 vs 6870
I have a local [slightly updated/modified] copy of https://golubev.com/gpuest.htm in a spreadsheet. Can confirm numbers:
5870: 79,036 H/s WPA
6870: 58,579 H/s WPA
5870 is 35% faster than 6870.

Apologies. The source where I found this this said passwords but this actually only contains SHA1 hashes of the MySpace passwords.
Still good for practising though as SHA1 is a fast hash.... |

A whole bunch of people are going to jump on here and tell you how terrible the 295X2 is for cracking but for a start, please advise what PSU you're using. Those GPUs are hungry beasts. |

Dude, that's barely enough power to run one 295X2! The TDP is around 450-500W and your PSU isn't 100% efficient either. |
