With this mask it is feasible to go up to length 7 at most, I guess. This is based upon a test with my 1060, where length 7 with the mask ?1?2?2?2?2?2?3 would take 5 days.

AFAIK, Hashcat does not control your fans at all, the only thing that may be possible is workload throttling. Im not sure which software is recommended to set custom fan curves for ubuntu though.

In case the session status says "Cracked", the password is saved to a file called "hashcat.potfile" in the directory where your hashcat executable is located.
