Thread: SHA1 - Unable to use MD5 as a password
Post: RE: SHA1 - Unable to use MD5 as a password
Well if I understood your 1st post right you want to crack a SHA-1 hash which in plaintext is a 32 char long hex-string right?
You would have to use the attackmode 1 which is combinator, in this mode... |

Thread: Generating a SHA256 Hash from another Hash
Post: RE: Generating a SHA256 Hash from another Hash
Okay let's asume you got 100 hashes and you know 99 of them (these 99 are hashes created in a chain from the 1st hash as you stated above).
Now please tell me how you come to the idea that knowing th... |

Thread: Too many collisions with -m 9720

https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-3665.html
In this thread atom talks about the implementation of the modes 9710 and 9720.
If I understand it right he split the mode 9700 into 9710 and 9720 so that... |

Your keyspace isn't 145*38, it's 145^38.

If you got a range of 38 possible characters and the number of positions is 145 would't the keyspace be 38^145?

I'm not sure what you want to here.
Hashalgorithms use fixed-point-operations (integer) IIRC, so the 93 PFLOPS don't say anything about possible hash cracking speed. But maybe I overlooked something... |

I'm not entirely sure but my guess would be that your Laptops Battery cant provide enough power for all parts of the device + the GPU at full load and therefore it gets throttled. |

Thread: Uknown Encrypted Archive
Post: RE: Uknown Encrypted Archive
If I understand you right you're trying to crack a .xef or .zip file?
If that's correct, stop it, it won't work.
You need the hash of either of these encrypted files. |

Thread: what is this type of hash
Post: RE: what is this type of hash
1. https://hashcat.net/forum/announcement-2.html
2. if you got a base64 string its not a hash, and you can simple decode it with any linux bash, and IIRC windows commandline also. |
