You mean Hardware, aren't you?
Software is up to date.
But I do not understand, why there is no problem with normal md5 and on the other side sha512 isn't working. |

And how can I crack a salted sha512 hash with hashcat? I tried it, but hashcat didn't work with this ASCII-string from the shadow file.
In fact the sha512 algorithmus is working with a binary-code ... |

But I've still a problem with the hashcat syntax.

Sry, now I got it. I tryed it an cracked some pw's, but it's very, very slow, if the calculation is done by the CPU. Why isn't this possible with CUDA. I think there is no chance to crack sha512unix p... |

Really, really tricky, I like that. 5000 rounds, this explains why it lasts so long to crack this hash and why rainbow-tables are a good alternative. But the salt is so long, that rainbowtables would ... |
