Thread: Ability to select BSSID/ESSID/handshake
Post: RE: Ability to select BSSID/ESSID/handshake
A hccap file only contains one essid. When you convert a cap file into hccap you provide a number corresponding to the essid you wanna crack.
+1 wireshark to "split" your cap file. |

Thread: A-F 0-9 8 digit mask Help
Post: RE: A-F 0-9 8 digit mask Help
-m 2500 is WPA. WPA password cannot be less than 8 characters.
So you do NOT want to test less than 8 characters
You start at 8 up to 63 (max for WPA)
"-i --increment-min=8" is useless.

Look for PCI slots on your MOBO.
As said, if you plug GPUs directly on PCI slots, pay attention of the cooling and space between 2 cards.

HI,
Thank you for this detailed explanation.
The goal was to test/benchmark few wordlists and rules against a known database.

Thread: 4 symbols WPA2 password?

ESSID is the name of the wifi, nothing to do with the password =)
Password must be between 8 and 63 characters, no more no less. |

Do you mean that if you have 4 cards of 8GB RAM each, one must have 32GB RAM (on MB) ? |

Post: RE: 3des comand
It's not "a part of the command", it's just the help file.
To attack 3DES set "-m" switch to 14100
Example:
Code:
--
hashcat -m 14100 wordlist hashfile
--
where wordlist contains a list of passwords ... |

Regarding to benchmark, look at this one (https://www.onlinehashcrack.com/tools-benchmark-hashcat-gtx-1080-... |

Post: RE: 1080GTX sluggish WPA cracking..
For a single 1080, 300 kH/s is is quite okay. See benchmarks.
If you do bruteforce you can get 380 kH/s but dictionnary is a bit slower. |
