| Well, I've installed Ubuntu Server 12.04, xserver and xterm, and on NTLM it was only about 0.27% faster than on my KDE :( |

| Yes it's very likely. But linux is getting faster and it interacts better with hardware with every release. Would be good to try. |

| Xanadrel has got a point :D Window$ doesn't know FIFO as far as I know, so window$ binaries neither. Use linux binaries. |
