ok thanks, I lost my password of my VeraCrypt file that was created with the defaults of AES and SHA-512 and I know how to run hashcat but I am stuck on how to get the correct hash?

Yeah, I know the structure but I cannot remember what I used... something like Abcde12Abcde$1234%1234# ...will have to try a mask attack and see what happens...thanks!
