Thread: NVidia RTX 2080
Post: RE: NVidia RTX 2080
Hard to say. On paper, the RTX 2080 should be ~10% slower than a GTX 1080 Ti.
But the tensor cores have a 10x higher output in FLOPS than the traditional GPU cores. That would be a HUGE step forward,... |

The new cards are out.
1st Surprise: There is also a RTX 2070
2nd surprise: The card design changend completely. Two axial fans are supposed to lower the noise level to 1/5th of a GTX 1080Ti. Bad fo... |

Thread: I5 vs I7 gtx1060
Post: RE: I5 vs I7 gtx1060
I used to calculate one core per GPU. But since the bumber of cores escalated, why not taking a solid i3-8100 with 4 cores for 1-2 GPUs and something like an i5-8400 with 6 cores for 3-4 GPUs. |

A simple 6-core should do fine.

Sounds like the GPUs are already existing. Which type are you using?
Keep in mind that power usage is a decent factor and needs to join your calculation. |

The CPU is quite outdated and cannot be recommended for a new system. If its already existing -> fine. Same with the mobo. The SSD does not matter and is fine.
The PSU is a bit too weak as mentione... |

Post: RE: I5 vs I7 gtx1060
You can even buy an i3-8100 or something lower and it would be completly sufficient to support that GPU. CPU-power is quite irrelevant for hashcat, as long as you're not running a couple of 1080Ti's. |

Ask someone with a proper gaming-PC if you could let run hashcat for a few hours. Should be enough. |
