Thread: 1080 TI FE not buyable, 1070 TI FE on the rise
Post: RE: 1080 TI FE not buyable, 1070 TI FE on the rise
On a quick look most affordable mobos have only three x16-slots. The Gigabyte Z370 HD3 sells for ~120 bucks. Mobos with four slots will cost >330.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the price difference b... |

Thread: 1080gtx running slow with WPA
Post: RE: 1080gtx running slow with WPA
Is your CPU hashing too? Otherwise try to use stock clock and run one simple benchmark. See if the results are as expected with all the usual hash methods (MD4, MD5, NTLM etc.). |

How many passwords are you trying to crack? Which version of hashcat are you using? And what speed are you expecting? |

Thread: 12 GPU hashcat rig
Post: RE: 12 GPU hashcat rig
The best GPU for hashcracking is the 1080Ti. You can build a machine with 8 of these GPUs with a server chassis and PSUs for ~12K. It does not make much sense to save a few bucks with an amateur mobo ... |

I also tried to verify the samples and failed. Same with the answers of the last challenge.
hash mode -m 10900, -a 0 (straight)
The input hash structure looks like this: "sha256:100000:Salt:Hash"

Thanks royce, that did the trick.
Although that 'challenge' is bit less challenging for the cracker than for the hardware. They deliver a wordlist which is easy to combine, but my two GTX980 hover a... |

Post: RE: 2080 ti 2500 50kh's
You did not specify a certain attack mode, so hashcat will take the default "straight" mode 0, which just tries every single word from your list. Add masks or use brute-force like slyexe recommended. |

You can specify the devices you want to use. Cut it down until it runs or bump up the RAM. |

I'm afraid they will heat up each other if put in one case. 8GB of RAM might not be enough in some situations while feeding 6 GPUs.
Which leaves us with the question: what are your plans for cracki... |

You say you clone the hdd to another rig. Is that rig of the same hardware like the one with the 5870? If not, this is a potential troublemaker. Try to dump a plain Windows system on the 6950 rig and ... |

In your case it does not make any sense to buy seven GTX970. Buy 4 GTX980Ti instead, get the same GPU power but without the complication of two chassis, what btw saves you a good bunch of money. That'... |

A desktop GTX970 has more cores (1664 vs. 1280) and a higher clock rate (1176 vs. 994) than the mobile version, resulting in >50% higher output. Add the lack of cooling in a notebook and your results ... |

The temp limit is verly low with 75°C, the card will overheat under heavy load like Hashcat, start throttling and all the theoretical power is gone. Except the cooling is WAY better then standard. |
