ETH heavily relies on memory performance. So it's not the best indicator. |

The CPU is quite outdated and cannot be recommended for a new system. If its already existing -> fine. Same with the mobo. The SSD does not matter and is fine.

A simple 6-core should do fine.

Do you use a notebook? Maybe the NumLock was on when you entered the password and now it's off (ot vice versa). You wouldn't be the first one. |

The new GTX 1070 Ti will be available in FE version and might have anyway a better price/preformance ratio. |

The simple answer is yes. The hash has a lot to do with it. With simple types of hashes you can get billions of tries per second (thats why they're called fast hashes e.g. MD5, NTLM), but with more se... |

Thread: core I3 2100 dual core - Best gpu to use
Post: RE: core I3 2100 dual core - Best gpu to use
The CPU is fine. But your PSU is not powerful enough for a Radeon 280x. That beast alone can draw ~300W under hashcat and would burn a 350W power supply almost instantly.
If you're on a budget, try... |

Thread: core I3 2100 dual core - Best gpu to use
Post: RE: core I3 2100 dual core - Best gpu to use
The key is the 12V-line on your PSU. It should have the necessary GPU power plus 50% safety margin. The GPU power is defined by its TDP. If you don't tweak with it that's pretty accurate - at least fo... |

Keep in mind that power usage is a decent factor and needs to join your calculation. |

Thread: 1060ti or 2060 benchmarks
Post: RE: 1060ti or 2060 benchmarks
Performance under hashcat usually scales down very good. Meaning if a RTX 2080 does 40MH/s under MD5 the RTX 2060 should do ~26MH/s and the 1660Ti ~20MH/s. The GTX1070 should be a bit faster than the ... |

Post: RE: Hashrate for money - RTX 2080 or RTX 2080 Ti?
By simply calculating cores and clock rate it should be ~1/3 faster.
EDIT: Seems to be the 2080 Ti FE will be delivered these days. That's why there are no benchmarks out yet. |
