Post: Why would the list run only on Linux?

Hello everyone, For some reasons I have to use hashcat on both The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) and windows 10. The issue is that the wordlist runs fine on The-Distribution...

Post: RE: Why would the list run only on Linux?

That could be, but I have already cracked +40% of the hashes using wordlists from the Internet so why would the problem appear only now? Note: the list (txt file) looks fine when I open it with windo...

Post: RE: Why would the list run only on Linux?

Changing the encoding did not work. I changed it to iso-8859-1, Windows 1252 and UTF7 but no luck at all. I still find it very weird because I am using exactly the same wordlist and exactly the same h...

Post: RE: Any huge rulesets?

It might not be wise to just find a 'huge' rule set but there is a 'rules' folder within the hashcat folder where you can find multiple rules. Also, the forum user contributions have some interesting ...

Aha! Thanks Jeremi this makes perfect sense! Although now I feel a bit stupid realizing that I should've done more reading about the algorithm before jumping to cracking.

Hello and welcome to the Hashcat forum! If hashcat is not throwing any errors then this basically mean you did not find the password yet, I think. You can either try different word lists/rules or d...

Hello all, So, here is the thing: I just started learning PT beside my actual study (medicine) and find it very interesting. I made/grabbed different types of hashes and now would like to see them c...
