Thread: HP DL380 G7
Post: RE: HP DL380 G7
Any worthwhile GPU is going to be two slots wide and require a x16 length slot, throughput doesn't matter just as long as it is the correct length. Looks like the max you could do assuming all of you... |

Thanks atom, this does help some as one of my next things to do was work on a bash script to do this with the results. However, I think they are also concerned about the raw hashes being obtained. I... |

Yes similar, I would think either method listed in that post would work, but I was unable to find if it was being worked on. It looks like atom says it is possible. |

Thread: Network support
Post: RE: Network support
I will give it a shot. It seems as if cryptohaze will support this right out of the box and uses opencl to operate the cpus, however, hashcat has much more algorithms available. |

I grabbed disthc and was able to get it to compile and install ok. I am a little confused on the usage documentation. I try to start the server like the notes say and it gives me.

How will you be running the 8 card setup as that gives you 16 GPUs? The driver only supports 8 last I knew. |

I would maybe spend just a couple more dollars and get a little better motherboard, one that accepts two full size slots for GPUs, that way if you want to add another in the future you will be good. ... |

Thread: Noob Question
Post: RE: Noob Question
The 9970 is a new chipset coming out from AMD. From what I understand it is basically a 7990 in one chip instead of two. I don't think they have set a release date yet just specs have been published... |

Post: RE: only 4x7990 per Tyan B7015F77V4R ?
Has anyone tried the 7990 yet? I would think it would be pretty hard to keep cool especially if you have 4 of them side by side. |

The other option would be to grab a Lepa G1600 power supply if you want to go with the more expensive option and stay with a single psu. |

Would you need to leave a 2 slot gap or could you get by with just one? This way you could do more cards assuming the catalyst driver is still working with more than 8 GPUs per machine. |
