Thread: v3.00 beta 63 SHA1 error
Post: v3.00 beta 63 SHA1 error
Seems the SHA1 module is broken.
Hashes that are almost identical except the first 2 chars both result in the same password recovered.

Thread: Hashcat overrides GPU fan control but doesn't use it

I occasionally have had similar issues.
My work around was to set --gpu-temp-disable on hashcat and let Afterburner handle the fan control. |

I am guessing the issue relates to the mask, somehow. That mask is only 8 char long, yet you have as 9 chars |

Thread: hashcat dictionary issues

There seems to be something funky even with the first file as well. Less than 10 million candidates in a 512MiB file => Avg password length is 54 characters |

Finally got done testing on 5.1.0, and exactly the same thing happens. Only the part above 4GB is written to file. |

Thread: Brain server can't write above 4GB
Post: RE: Brain server can't write above 4GB
Running the brain-server on Ubuntu 18.04, hashcat beta 1807 there is no failure when the ldmp file passes the 4GB mark, so it appears to be a windows-only issue.

I guess a developer or at least somebody able to debug the src/brain.c code would need to try to troubleshoot, repdroduce and try to fix this problem.

Did a little digging, and I may be way off base - seeing as I don't really code much, and have never done anything in C/C++

Read and write was successful on a 7+GB ldmp.
Created a new database from scratch and wrote 4+GB to it.
Test from my POV was successful.

I have not, per say. The trick I use with loading youtu.be et.al. is really to regain lost performance, due to whatever causes the issue. |
