On my setups it happens because of: 1. PSU, too low wattage to feed gpu's on higher clocks. 2. ASIC hangs, when GPU too much overclocked to be busy at 100%

No, on this case it's much easier to make bridge with one wire on plug, than to buy from ebay already made one :D

So you need to add extra fans on your case or do something else to avoid cards overheat. Temp retain put's fans high, but not stops your current work to allow cards to cool.

Downclock your HD5xxx card. It causes ASIC hang because of too low vcore voltage or wrong bios.
