Post: RE: Build Spec Review

Agreed, the 7990s are very hard to cool. I have a box with 2x 7970s and 1x 7990. I was easily able to keep the 7970s cool until of course I added the 7990, then the heat went up all around. The 799...

The 7990 is just two 7970 chips on one card. The performance results are similar to two 7970s if you want to get an idea.

Keep in mind you may need to leave a space as well between them for cooling depending on your cards and chassis.

I have a couple of scripts I run, which splits the hash into a first and second. Then I crack though all of them and compile in one file. Once I am done I run another script that reassembles them. ...

Oh and if you look at the top there is a link called trac, you can go there and register an account. Once you have an account you can put in feature requests such as the one you just proposed and the...

Interesting, by the looks of the design the case is made to force air through the gpus as there isn't a whole lot of other exhaust ports. My case has 3 - 180mm fans, they push a ton of air through, b...

How does that work? Doesn't the gpu just heat up right away? Kinda like running a cpu without some kind of cooler?

I've got a machine with a 7990. You need good airflow in the case, otherwise it will run hot. If you try to stuff 4 in one case good luck. I had two 7970's and a 7990 running in one case with a spa...
