Markov and Statsprocessor on the wiki

The Markov explanation on the wiki is a little brief and it didn't answer many of my questions Smile

I was wondering if anyone who is clever enough to know about Markov, statsprocessor and especially the effect of -t ratings would be kind enough to contribute some of their free time to the hashcat wiki ?

I really don't want to rely on atom doing it, as I am sure we would all rather he spent his time programming. I am unable to write this wiki page myself as I don't know enough about the subject, although I have written others.

So if anyone would like to give a little back to hashcat would you please consider writing a tutorial and explanation ? If you don't have a wiki account here don't worry I will post it for you after atom's approval.

If you are a little unsure about your knowledge of this subject but would like to help, I suggest writing what you "think" is going on and allow others here to correct it before it goes on to the wiki.

Anyone interested in contributing to hashcat project ?

For me it also some mystery with -t (Markov chains?), how increasing number of these increase probability. Article regarding same topic: https://blog.wolfram.com/2013/02/04/cente...ov-chains/

I have read other pages on Markov but I was hoping for a more specific write up on how it is implemented in statsprocessor and oclhashcat-plus.

I think there is a high probability atom "optimised" something for us so I suspect it works differently to other methods and I was just wondering in what way.

I have done some of my own ammeter testing and I have had some odd results, probably my fault but it wasn't the output I expected.

Just one info (preview), the next version of statsprocessor will not make use of -t any longer since it will use a radical new concept which I think is much better.

but markov stays on oclhashcat?

Oooh I can't wait ! I have so many questions about the current method but I guess I should wait for the new version.

I do hope you will allow some user "tweaking", its all part of the fun !
